Employment: Celebrities

You want to be famous? You want to be a ~STAR~? It's entirely possible! In fact, the rules for becoming a celebrity are pretty straight forward:

1. If a character has celebrity status in canon, they have the right to it in Genessia. They already know how to work the system to get there. If they are a freelance celebrity, they max out at *** (and even then it's rare, as most people don't consider celebrities particularly useful to society). It's recommended they find a talent agency (Fama Talent Agency is the foremost in game and books out to all cities.)

2. If your character is not a celebrity in canon, they can still be performers for * regardless of whether they have a talent agency or not. However, if they do have a talent agency they have a chance to become a celebrity in the future.

How does a talent agency work?
By working for a talent agency, your character essentially has an NPC (or player character if you plot it out with a player working as a talent agent) who helps get them gigs and increase the attention to your character.

If your character is a non-celebrity, or in the agency's terms "Upcoming Talent," then your character essentially gets to play a waiting-and-randomization game. This is what any non-canon celebrities will be. If they maintain this status for at least 4 months they have a chance of being "discovered" and moved up to celebrity status.

Is it possible to make more than **** as a celebrity?
If your character makes appearances at three logged events, you can add * to your overall celebrity status. It is your responsibility to notify moderators of an increase in celebrity status by commenting on the employment page with the link to three public events (parties, contests, tv series, fundraisers, etc.- not emergency/save the day events) in which you participated as a celebrity (must have at least 10 comments on the log to count- no time limit for how long it takes). As this is based on participation and activity, there is no upper limit.

Can my character lose celebrity status?
If you do not have at least one post (not just comments) during an ACI period, you will lose any additional income over the base ****. Being a celebrity is all about being in the public eye, you've got to have at least something beyond comments/threads if you want to keep raking in the dough for it. It will be automatic, so make sure you tag your posts as you make them!
